Two weeks ago, my family and I took a trip to see some beautiful landscapes far away. We traveled through Las Vegas and Zion National Park before arriving at our final destination, the Grand Canyon. The things we saw on this trip were incredible, and they showed the awesome power of the Creator. Here are some of my best pictures from the trip.

For the first time this year, I had the time to take a short walk through the woods in the snow and take some pictures. It was gorgeous. Here are three things I wanted to share with you about walking in the snow: 1. It's cold. Although this is obvious, I had to mention it. Bring an extra pair of gloves even if you think you won't need them. With your finger tips freezing, it is nearly impossible to see the beauty in nature (never mind take a picture with your camera). So dress warmly. 2. Bring a camera. Even if it's just on your phone, bring a camera. The quality of the picture isn't as important as being able to look back at what you saw and remember. Take pictures of anything that is beautiful, and always be prepared to snap a shot. I found that I was taking a picture almost every ten seconds, so never turn the camera off. 3. Take your time. Especially if you are walking alone, take your time and observe. It is so peaceful in the woods when there's snow. Maybe stop walking every few minutes and look around, take a picture, and continue. You never know what beauty you'll see. Another good thing about walking in the snow is that you can see what animals have been there before you by looking for tracks. When you find tracks, take a picture of them and do some research when you get home. Compare your picture with the one on your screen. This is quite a fun thing to do in the snowy months. Here are some more pictures I took on my walk this week: This is my mom kindly posing for me. :)
This week, my family and I have been camping in Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. It is beautiful. God really must have had fun when He made this place. It is incredible. We started our trip by paddleboarding in a lake under the mountains. It was so peaceful out on the lake. On one side, the golden sun was setting behind the hills, and on the other, the gorgeous mountains sat looming over us. The next day, we went horseback riding through the beautiful forest. Butterflies flew around us as we walked and trotted through the woods. My horse, however, appeared rather drunk. Whatever I did, she always tried to run me into the trees. I have the scratches to prove it. Although this time painful for me, this activity always proves worthwhile. My horse must have just been having a bad day. Later in the day, we visited our third president's beautiful home, Monticello. We took a very interesting tour through the house of Thomas Jefferson, and got to see his interesting style and architecture skills, which were much ahead of his time. The grounds around the house were breathtaking, and the view from the vast gardens was especially spectacular. We also got to see the grave of this amazingly influential man. Here is a sketch I did of the house: The next day, we drove the famous Skyline Drive which took us through the gorgeous national park. There were many deer to be seen along the way, and also many chances to stop and experience the breathtaking view of the blue ridge mountains. Sadly, the next day, it was time to move on. We took the Skyline Drive out of the national park, and did a short hike along the way. On the hike, some of us spotted a bear around 100 feet off the trail fleeing from our footsteps. Unfortunately, the trees obstructed my view, and I was unable to see this incredible mammal. After the hike, however, I spotted this small bear on the side of the road quickly fleeing from our car. We hastily stopped the car, and I jumped out with my camera. Although looking back I realize it wasn't the wisest thing to do, I immediately started running after the bear so that I could photograph this great animal. Thankfully, I was able to. Thank God for this beautiful place full of amazing animals of all sizes. I hope you too, dear reader, would someday be able to visit this beautiful national park. A few weeks back, my family and I were blessed to be able to visit the Creation Museum and the life-sized ark encounter in Kentucky. These places do a miraculous job showing God’s amazing love and power in His creation. Throughout the museum, there were hundreds of exhibits providing amazing evidence supporting creation, and contradicting evolution. On the breathtaking, life-sized ark, there were rooms of manuscripts and exhibits that were truly remarkable, despite the unfortunate lack of animals. It was such an eye-opening experience to be able to walk through such a biblical icon. I highly recommend visiting these amazing places. Here are the links to their websites: The Creation Museum: https://creationmuseum.org The Ark: https://www.arkencounter.com Right now, I am writing to you from a campsite near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. So far, this two-week vacation has been a nature-full one. From sun bathing raptors, to swarming fireflies, Pennsylvania has a lot to share. Stay tuned for more details to come, but as for me, I am off to enjoy a brilliant campfire with my family. (Who's jealous?) Tomorrow we shall move on to see what Ohio has to offer.
